Castro’s death condoled

SHILLONG: The Meghalaya Joint Council of Trade Unions & Associations, the apex body of all trade unions and associations of the State, has condoled the death of Fidel Alejandro Castro Ruz, the Cuban politician and revolutionary.  “His demise is a great loss to working class movement and struggles for welfare of l people,” said a statement.
In a separate statement, the CPI, Meghalaya State Council also condoled Castro’s death and recalled his contribution.
“He  was a great friend of Indian Communist movement and India,” CPI secretary Samudra Gupta said, adding that the CPI will carry forward the heroic and revolutionary heritage of  Castro.
