Traffic diversions, no-entry in city

SHILLONG: Traffic on the internal road that connects the tri-junction near the office of the Ministry of Forest and Environment, North Eastern Region at Lumbatngen (Law-u-sib) and Pohkseh Children Hospital is flowing one way, informed the East Khasi Hills SP in a statement.
While vehicles from Pohkseh can move up the road those coming from Sawlad cannot go down. A ‘no-entry’ board has already been placed about 100m from the tri-junction.
The police also made arrangements for those attending the Dorbar Pyllun of the Synjuk Ki Kynthei Catholic, Shillong Archdiocese, which will be celebrated on the St. Joseph Church Premises, Mawkhar Parish, on Sunday.
Vehicles moving towards Motphran from Jaiaw will have to go through Riatsamthiah and proceed to Motphran via Syiem Mylliem Junction in Mawkhar as there will be a no-entry from Jaiaw Pdeng Junction near new Community Hall in Mawkhar.
Similarly, vehicles coming from the bridge near Seng Khasi College will have to move to Motphran via Wahumkhrah Bridge, Mawlai Nongpdeng as Seng Khasi College Bridge to Jaiaw Mawbynna will be a no-entry zone.
The road from Motphran to Mawkhar Parish will also be closed.
For parking, heavy vehicles coming from Ri Bhoi have to move to the allotted places along the Wahumkhrah river and opposite Seng Khasi School in Jaiaw.
For light vehicles coming from Mission/Motphran, areas along Students’ Field Mission in Jaiaw and Langsning will be used for parking. Areas near KJP and St Dominic School in Mawkhar will be used for parking of light vehicles coming from Jaiaw.
For heavy and light motor vehicles from Nongthymmai side and Upper Shillong, the parking lot will be opposite Anjalee Cinema Hall and MUDA Parking lot at Iew-Mawlong and Boucher Road.
Vehicles coming from Ri-Bhoi should head to the Ri-Bhoi parking lot at Lumdiengjri. For light vehicles coming from Jaiaw, one side of the road along Riatsamthiah towards Christian Academy School will be allotted for parking.
Other no-entry points will be from Mawroh Tri junction to Golf Link, from Golf Link Tri-Junction ahead of Golf Club to PTS/Mawroh, from Bhaiti Junction near Tiara Restaurant to Lumshyiap, from Chandmari junction/Lumshyiap to Bhaiti Junction near Tiara Restaurant and from Tea Pot to Golf Club.
The SP’s office has also indicated road diversions. Vehicles coming from Mawroh via Chandmari Junction and moving towards Polo will be diverted to Pynthorumkhrah via Langkyrding A.
Those coming from Lumshyiap and Langkyrding and going towards Polo will be diverted to Pynthorumkhrah via Langkyrding A. Vehicles from MPRO Quarter will have to take a detour from PTS-Mawroh Junction/FCI route.
Those coming from Golf Club and moving towards Lumshyiap will be diverted towards Bhaiti Junction.
No vehicle will be allowed to park along the periphery of the Golf Course.
