SHILLONG: A delegation of HYC’s Dangar-Balat border circle met East Khasi Hills Deputy Commissioner P.S. Dkhar on Monday over the shoddy construction of the Riat Mawniuh bridge situated along Mawsynram-Balat road.
Speaking to reporters after the meeting, president of HYC’s Dangar-Balat border circle Marconi Snaitang said, “The Phase I construction of the bridge is complete while Phase II is on. The shoddy construction shows the negligence of PWD in constructing the bridge.”
The DC assured to look into the matter
Meanwhile, the delegation also voiced its opposition to the plying of overloaded trucks along the Mawsynram-Balat road under the Mawsynram Division, PWD (Road).
In this regard, the organization has urged the DC to set up a weighbridge at Laitmynsaw.
