Woman held for throwing baby into river

SHILLONG: A woman was arrested for allegedly throwing her baby into the Wahriat river in Old Nongstoin in May, police said. The woman was held based on a complaint lodged by Havid Hamar Marwein, the headman of Upper New Nongstoin. The woman had admitted to the crime, Marwein said in his complaint.
