IIM student’s body handed over to family

SHILLONG: The body of IIM Shillong student Shalini S Raju (28), from Kerala’s Kollam district who is suspected to have committed suicide was handed over her family which arrived here on   Tuesday.
East Khasi Hills SP M Kharkrang said that police are still investigating the matter. It is learnt that the family will take the body of the student to their native place on Wednesday.
The student, Raju, is suspected to have committed suicide by hanging herself in her room at the IIM women’s barrack at Lawjynriew on Monday.
The body was found at 11.15 am and police recovered two suicide notes from her room that was locked from inside. “In the suicide notes, she did not blame anyone but apologised to her family for taking such a decision,” police sources said.
