NONGPOH: A day after a section of the media reported the arrest of four members of the Hynniewtrep Youth Council’s (HYC) North Khasi Hills District Unit for allegedly extorting the manager of a petrol pump at 17th Mile, Byrnihat, leaders of the pressure group’s North Khasi Hills unit clarified that the apprehended people were not HYC members.
General Secretary of HYC’s NKHD unit Albert Nongrum while denouncing the action of the arrested persons warned that anybody found defaming the council will be dealt with sternly.
