Salary hike for SSA teachers

SHILLONG: The Meghalaya SSA Schools Association central body has accepted the salary enhancement of SSA teachers in the state as notified by DP Wahlang, State Mission Director SEMAM (SSA) Commissioner and Secretary, Education department.
Teachers who have completed D. El. Ed and as per NCTE norms according to which the minimum qualification for LP teachers is Class XII pass with 45% aggregate plus Diploma in Elementary Education (DL.ED). For upper primary teacher, the minimum qualification is degree with 45% aggregate mark plus DL.ED.
The enhancement is Rs 9, 200 to Rs 19,044 for Lower Primary and Rs 9,900 to Rs 20, 493 for Upper Primary School teachers.
The salary for untrained teachers of lower primary (LP) schools was fixed at Rs 9,200 to Rs 13, 335 Lower Primary and for trained upper primary (UP) teachers at Rs 20, 493. Again, in terms of untrained teachers, salary was fixed at Rs 13, 335 for LP and Rs 14, 392 for UP teachers from Rs 9900.
