SHILLONG: KHADC chief executive member P.N Syiem will start his campaign for change from Jirang constituency from December 13.
Speaking to The Shillong Times on Saturday, Syiem said the main objective of the campaign is to make people secured both economically and socially and listen to their grievances.
“We should have a new system in politics and the voice of the weaker section should be heard,” he said, adding that policies should be formulated to protect the interest of the weaker section.
“If a person engaged in big companies can be well secured, why not the weaker sections,” he said.
The campaign for change will be a continuous process and will first focus on the Khasi-Jaintia region before extending to Garo Hills.
