State wins big at 2nd World C’ships of World Martial Arts

SHILLONG: The athletes of Meghalaya win big in the 2nd World Championship of World Martial Arts which was held in the Jamia Milia Islamia University Sports Complex in New Delhi from December 11 to 14. While Khrawbok Marwein (Lowkick- Kickboxing) won Gold in 51-55 kgs category. Jarmin M Sangma (Taekwondo) also bagged Gold by KO in 53 kgs whereas, Scolis Manih (Kung- Fu) earned Silver in 62.1 kgs. Another athlete, Thomas Rongthaluh (KungFu) received bronze in 57 kgs while Bilson Thangkhiew (Kung-Fu) lost in the semi final bout (round 3) in 48 kgs. Albanrilang Pearson Mylliem Umlong (Full Contact – Kickboxing) also lost in the semi final bout (round 3) in 51 kgs category. Medal tally for Meghalaya Martial Arts athletes are Gold (2 Nos), Silver (1), Bronze (1).
