JOWAI: Deputy Chief Minister R.C Laloo inaugurated the first parking lot in Jowai on Thursday.
The construction of the parking lot was initiated by the state government and implemented by the PWD at an estimated cost of Rs. 1.7 crore.  The parking lot is situated at Iawshyiap and was constructed on the land belonging to the Jowai Presbyterian Church. The double-floor parking lot was constructed under the Special Plan Assistance Scheme 2013-2014.  “The parking lot in Jowai will not only ease congestion on the road side but it is also a sign that the district is developing economically,” Laloo said after the inauguration.
