First cyber crime police station inaugurated in HP

Shimla: The first Cyber Crime Police Station in Himachal Pradesh was inaugurated at the state police headquarters here by Chief Minister Virbhadra Singh on Saturday.
After inaugurating the police station online from his office, he said the main objective of this Cyber Crime Police Station is to deal with increasing incidents of crime in cyberspace.
‘It will register and probe cyber crimes such as hacking of government web sites and its data, online fraud and cyber terrorism, Singh said.
This police station will also liaise with nodal agencies dealing with cyber crime and undertake investigation for its detection and prevention, he said, adding it will also spread awareness about cyber crime and ways to avoid being falling victim to it. (PTI)
