TURA: South Garo Hills police on Friday arrested a constable of the 4th Battalion of Meghalaya Police for allegedly raping a 17-year-old girl in Baghmara.
According to a complaint filed by the girl’s mother on Friday, the constable, Mambai Lawai, knew the girl. She was raped on Thursday.
Lawai then disappeared from his place of posting. Police arrested him late on Friday evening.
