Body found
Police had found an unconscious man lying at Anjalee area on December 18 which latter died. The body was sent to NEIGRIHMS for postmortem. The man was identified as Sudesh Das (65).
Girl missing
A minor girl, Mebalarica Hinge, is reportedly missing from her residence in Jowai since December 23. The 16-year-old went missing from Iawmusiang Jowai around 8 pm and her relative suspected that she had run away with a student from Jowai. The girl’s father, C Rymbai, has lodged a complaint with Jowai Police in this regard.
Attempted to murder
On December 21 at about 9.45 am, one Ajibur Rohman Borbhoiya attempted to murder his wife Josna Begum Borbhoiya near Dana Bhoi, East Jaintia Hills.
Accidents
On December 23 at about 9 am, one tourist Maruti Alto-800 (ML-04C-1330) driven by Dik Dkhar (29) dashed against two minor children Banangpynbha Kharbangar (4) and Hamarbamut Kurkalang (5) at Mawlyngngad in East Khasi Hills. As a result, the victims sustained injuries and were shifted to Woodland Hospital, Shillong.
On December 23 noon, one motorcycle (ML-10A-7076) ridden by Banaibor Kharshiing (29) knocked down Greg Lyngdoh (87) at Umlyngka, Upper Shillong. As a result, the victim sustained injuries and was shifted to Civil Hospital Shillong.
Two wheeler stolen
On December 22 at about 10.30 pm, Sangeeta Nath parked her scooty (ML-05M-4878) at Polo parking lot, Shillong. On December 23 morning, she found that her scooty was missing.
