National accolades for two state anganwadi workers

Shillong: In recognition of the exemplary work and exceptional achievement of anganwadi workers in the country, Union Minister of Women and Child Development Maneka Sanjay Gandhi gave away national Awards to the workers for the year 2014-15 and 2015-16 in New Delhi on December 22.
Altogether 97 anganwadi workers from different States and Union Territories, including two from Meghalaya, were conferred national awards.The anganwadi workers from the State who received the award included Witawan Sungoh, Nongbah Lumshor (Thadlaskein ICDS Project in West Jaintia Hills) and Silbi Pohing of Rata Cherra West AWC Khliehriat ICDS Project in East Jaintia Hills.
