SHILLONG: Spark, an NGO that works with street children, organised a pre-Christmas celebration for under-privileged children and elderly people at Mercy Old Age Home.
The programme started with a welcome speech addressed by Shima Modak, founder and president of Spark. She expressed care and concern for those in difficult situation and promised to stand by them.
This was followed by a short prayer recited by Sister Superior, in charge of Mercy Old Age Home.
A cake was cut on the occasion by the eldest person at the Home. The children greeted all the elderly people and interacted with them sharing love and care with them.
