SHILLONG: A woman from a village in West Khasi Hills attempted to set herself on fire to end the agony she has been facing in the hands of an accused who allegedly raped her repeatedly from December 8-25.
According to police, a resident from Lad Nongbsa village lodged an FIR at Nongstoin police station that on December 26 around 3.30 pm, his sister attempted to commit suicide by immolating herself after she was repeatedly raped by one Shoberwel Wanniang of Maweit village.
