11 injured in separate road accidents

SHILLONG: Eleven persons were injured in two separate incidents in the last two days in East Khasi Hills.
Five persons were injured at Mawlyngad under Mawryngkneng block when a Tata Indica coming from Shillong collided with a truck from the opposite direction. The injured persons – Stepping Stone (30), Joyli Syrti (55), Struin Daw (45), Seibormi Dkhar (32) and an unknown male in his mid-thirties – were shifted to Shillong Civil Hospital.
In another incident, a Swift Dezire heading towards Shillong from Jowai collided with a Maruti car near Lad Nongkrem at Laitkor under Mawryngkneng block on Monday morning.
The injured – Maialang Dkhar (47), Iaraplang Sohtun (35), Pynbiang Nongrum (67), Flowme Lyngdoh (40), Phrangshuwa Thubru (46) and Ruhiiohi Adong (22) – were shifted to Shillong Civil Hospital.
Maialang, Phrangshuwa and Ruhiiohi were occupants of the Swift Dezire while Iaraplang and Flowme were travelling in the Maruti car driven by Pynbiang Nongrum. In both the incidents, the 108 Emergency Service Ambulance helped in shifting the injured.
