House owner in 2-day police custody

SHILLONG: A local court has forwarded Wanlambok Khongsit alias Jhandu, the owner of the house at Madanrting where the minor trafficked girl was residing with Mamoni Parveen and her husband Sandip Biswa, to two-day police custody.
Khongsit surrendered on Sunday with the help of his advocate Nitin Khera in the presence of Officer in Charge of Madanrting police station B.K Mishra.
Earlier, another accused in the case, Madan Bahadur Thapa had surrendered before the officer in charge of Madanrting police station.
Besides, five persons have been arrested so far in connection with the rape and trafficking case.
