Laptops to be awarded
The State Government will award laptops to meritorious students who have passed MBOSE, SSLC, HSSLC, ICSE, CBSE and ISC in 2016. Specially-abled students will also be awarded. The IT Award Ceremony will be held at Yojana Bhavan Auditorium, Main Secretariat Building January 20 from 4:00 PM onwards wherein the Minister in charge of ITC, Ampareen Lyngdoh will be the chief guest. All the awardees eligible for the awards are to report to the reception at the venue by 2:00 PM.
Office bearers
The office bearers of Laitkor Dorbar Pyllun were elected in a meeting on January 9 at Laitkor football ground attended by Myntris of Hima Mylliem Syiemship. While Leonard Arun Mawrie was named the chairman, Helston Roy Kharkongor is the general secretary, Kumsingh Mawrie the treasurer and Stenislaus Pyngrope, the secretary of water and sanitation committee.
Notice for voters
The Election Branch of the office of the Deputy Commissioner, East Khasi Hills, has asked voters with two EPICs to surrender the same at the DC’s office or to the respective Block Development Officers for an error free electoral roll by January 15.
