Rape reported after 2 months; man held

SHILLONG: Another rape case came to light when a 32-year-old woman filed a complaint against one Longborn Thongni at Mawkyrwat in South West Khasi Hills more than two months after the incident.
South West Khasi Hills SP Herbert Lyngdoh said the woman said in her complaint that she was allegedly raped by Thongni on November 11 while on the way from Pendensohsham to Umpung. She added that the accused had threatened her of dire consequences if she reported the matter to police. The FIR was filed on January 16 and the accused was arrested on the same day.
