Accident
On Jan. 18 at about 1.30 pm, an accident took place between one Maruti car (ML-04C-2571) driven by Christopher Marboh and one dumper truck (ML-04B-9468) at Umkhen, Shillong By-pass (EKH). As a result, one occupant and the driver of the car sustained injuries. The injured driver was admitted at Woodland Hospital, Shillong. The driver of the dumper truck fled away after the incident.
On Jan. 17 around 6.40 pm, one motorcycle (ML-08D-2341) ridden by Tengku Ch Marak dashed against a cow which was standing on the road at Rangatari (SWGH). As a result, the motorcycle rider and one pillion rider sustained injuries and were shifted to PHC Garobadha and later referred to CH Tura.
Threat
On Jan. 15 at about 8.30 pm, one Iakorsingh Chyrmang verbally abused his mother and also threatened family members with dire consequences at Dulong Poh Hali, Jowai (WJH). Police arrested the accused.
Theft
On Jan. 18 around 1.30 pm, unknown miscreant(s) stole one motorcycle (ML-07A-6437) belonging to Prosanto Rabha from DC Complex, Ampati (SWGH).
W. Sancley, Asst. Mines Royalty, Inspector, lodged a complaint (Jan. 17) that unknown miscreant(s) stole one CCTV camera which was installed by NGT in front of DMR Office, Borsora (SWKH).
Stembirth R Marak lodged a complaint that on Jan. 17 around 8.30 pm unknown miscreant(s) broke into his house at Lawsohtun, Block-IV, Shillong and stole cash Rs. 40,000/-.
Body found
On Jan. 19 around 6.30 am, police recovered one unidentified male dead body (25/30 yrs) from Madanriting Bazar, Shillong. Necessary formalities were observed and the cadaver was sent to CH Shillong for post mortem.
Forgery
Sterius Mawlong lodged a complaint that on Jan. 6, six persons, viz., (1) Blingdar Wahlang, (2) Kmersing Marwein, (3) Shainskhem Pariong, (4) Neutrality Hoojon, (5) Dmetfullin Hoojon and (6) Phlistina Hoojon, illegally used the seal of Lawrynjam village (WKH) and also forged the signature of the village Headman.
