2-min silence for martyrs of freedom struggle

Shillong: Along with the rest of the country, Meghalaya on Monday observed a two minutes silence with due solemnity and better public participation in memory of those who gave their lives in the struggle for India’s freedom. The day also marks the death anniversary of the Father of the Nation, Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi.In Shillong, wreaths were laid at the statue of Gandhi at the Meghalaya (Civil) Secretariat, Rilang Building, by government officials led by Additional Chief Secretary, Government of Meghalaya, P.S. Thangkhiew.
