Mawlai boy’s voice wins hearts at MGT

SHILLONG: The Grand Finale of the Meghalaya’s Got Talent Season-2 on Tuesday saw a tough competition and a wild card entry.
The 10 finalists impressed the audience and judges with spectacular performances. Ronan W.G Lyngdoh Nongbri of Mawlai Mawdatbaki became the champion for his scintillating voice and won cash prize of Rs 2 lakh and a trophy.
The first runner-up was a magician from Pynursla, Fullingstar Khongsni, who won cash prize of Rs 70,000. The third prize of Rs 30,000 cash went to Mawlynnai, a four-member music band  led by Manborsing Mawlong of Umsning.
The prize for the Best Performers of the Day went to Potato Squad, a five-member a capella band from Madanryting.
Former Minister A.L Hek and Nongthymmai MLA Jemino Mawthoh were present at the event.
The finalists of Season-1 entertained the audience after the contest.
Outstanding performers like the young Ilawanshwa Nongsiej from Mawkyrwat and Bryan Kharumnuid from Madanryting captivated both the audience and the panel of jury but failed to be in the top 3.
