NES re-introduces NE Body Can Sing 2016

SHILLONG: The North Eastern Service of All India Radio in its endeavor to promote and tap the unheard tunes of NE culture as well as to bring to the limelight the untapped musical talents of the region, has re- introduced the popular musical radio reality show “NE Body Can Sing- 2016”.
The competition is to be held in two categories i.e Solo Modern song in any language/dialect of the respective state of NEZ(Non- film) and competition of Western music (Solo).
Addressing a press conference here on Tuesday, Programme Executive, ME Sawkmie informed that the preliminary rounds in selecting the finalist in the two categories from each state are conducted by the respective Capital All India Radio stations., adding the finalists in each category will be competing for  the 1st prize with a cash award of Rs 1 lakh while the 2nd prize will get Rs 50000.
There are 12 finalists in both categories. The grand finale is scheduled to be held in Shillong on Feb 11.
It will be aired LIVE by NES of All India Radio, Shillong on Feb 11 from 4.30 PM to 7.30 PM and can be heard on FM 100.1 Mhz, SW- 60.36 m and also from the transmitters of AIR- Shillong, Guwahati, Itanagar, Imphal, Aizawl, Agartala Kohima, Gangtok and also on the DTH Service of NES. It will also be telecast LIVE by Doordarshan,Shillong.
