SHILLONG: The Ri Bhoi Students’ Union (RBSU) urged Chief Minister Mukul Sangma on Thursday to establish a government college in and around Umroi area.
They have submitted a memorandum to the CM which stated that the only college offering degree courses in the district is Ri Bhoi College at Nongpoh which is feasible only to those residing in villages within Nongpoh area.
The Union also apprised the CM of the traffic hurdles which have caused havoc to all commuters plying on NH-40.
Sangma said, “I am sending them with great hope and I have maintained that the government’s job is to engage in exhaustive due diligence across all sectors and we are addressing the disabilities to find ways particularly in the social sector.”
