SHILLONG: Officials from the Directorate of Mineral Resources (DMR) on Tuesday detected fake royalty and P-form from a coal-laden truck from Shallang at Dainadubi in East Garo Hills.
Officials seized the truck and an FIR was registered with the local police station.
The driver of the truck confessed that they have been using the fake royalty and P-form for years and duping the government of its revenue share.
Last year, Directorate of Mineral Resources (DMR) officials with the help of police had arrested a group of people who were allegedly selling such fake documents from Goalpara.
Without having the royalty and P-form, trucks are not allowed to pass through taxation and DMR gates.
On February 7, a truck bearing registration number AS-18 A-3251 was seized and on January last AS-18 C-0371 was also seized.
