SHILLONG: In the wake of alleged misuse of transit pass (TP), the Khasi Jaintia Butchers’ Welfare Association (KJBWA) has decided that TPs will be issued to members with the validation for three days only.
Speaking at a press conference on Friday, Generous Warlarpih, general secretary of the Association said that the decision was taken in a meeting that members will be issued TPs as per their needs.
“Some members are misusing it. The owners of cattle will have to collect it personally,” he said, urging the members to co-operate with the Association.
On the other hand, Warlarpih condemned the allegations made by the Ri-War Mihngi Butcher Association (RMBA) who accused that the Association along with FKJGP has allowed ailing cattle to be sold in the State.
“The FKJGP are only supporting us in our endeavor to maintain proper health check up and ear tagging of cattle.
