Man held for raping 13-yr-old

SHILLONG: A youth was arrested on Friday for allegedly raping a 13-year-old girl at Pynursla in East Khasi Hills. Police arrested 20-year-old Jerryson Buhphang after a woman lodged a complaint that between March and May last year, he raped the minor. In another incident, a 46-year-old man was arrested on Friday for allegedly attempting to rape a woman. South West Khasi Hills police said as per the FIR, Rosparlan Thongni of Bamon Dewsaw village went to the residence of the woman on February 6 and attempted to rape her. Thongni has been remanded in three-day police custody.
