Women’s body distributes notebooks

Nongpoh:  In an effort aimed at helping the underprivileged children, the Seng Longkmie of Umiam on Friday had done a commendable job by distributing free notebooks amongst the poor and needy students of the village.
The Seng Longkmie of Umiam Pyllun was recently formed in the village with Aitilin Mawlong as President and Rose Mary as General Secretary. This is the first step of its charity work in the village that the women body had taken since its inception. 38 poor students of the village benefitted from the programme.
The local headman of Umiam , Shek Kharbteng lauded the initiative taken by the women body.
