Free check up, meds provided at health camp

SHILLONG: A one-day Health Camp was held at Umpohliew Jingtip Higher Secondary School, Nongbsap village, East Khasi Hills on February 25. The programme was organised by P.A. Sangma Foundation in collaboration with the school.
D. Wanswett, Principal Synod College appreciated the noble effort of the two collaborating organisations. He also reminded the youth of the dangers of early addiction to tobacco and betel nut chewing.
About 200 residents from the village availed the health care facilities, including free check up and medicines, provided at the health camp by a team of doctors, nurses and medical staff from District Medical Health Offices, Sohiong CHC, Umthlong PHC, Diengiei PHC and Sanda Villa Clinic.
As many as 100 people also availed the free eye care check up and medicines.

 

BJP Mandal meet
SHILLONG: A meeting was held by 16 East Shillong Mandal of the BJP on Saturday in city.
It was decided that the present members of the Mandal will continue to function till 2019. The Mandal is yet to nominate any candidate.
