SHILLONG: Media persons in Shillong have taken exception to the new practice of barring their entry to the Raj Bhavan. In a letter to Governor Banwarilal Purohit on Thursday, the Shillong Press Club expressed its dismay over the matter and said that if the issue was not resolved, it would be compelled to advise its members to abstain from covering any event in the Raj Bhavan.  The Shillong Press Club noted that media persons were denied entry to the Raj Bhavan twice, first on February 24 when a delegation of Khasi Hills Autonomous District Council members had called on the Governor, and again on Thursday when a UDP delegation paid a visit to the Governor House.
