SHILLONG: RTI findings have revealed loss of revenue to the tune of over Rs 8 lakh in the KHADC during 2007-08.
Informing this here on Monday, the youth wing of the KHNAM said a memorandum in this regard was submitted to KHADC CEM PN Syiem highlighting that the Council did not deduct the Value Added Tax from over 155 work contracts which resulted in leakage of revenue.
It further said that as many as 19 MDCs did not submit utilisation certificates for amount totalling to Rs 2.66 lakh which was part of the package released as grant-in-aid for the Arts and Culture department for the year 2007-2008.
The KHNAM youth wing expressed concern over the revenue leakage and demanded administrative reforms in the KHADC at the earliest. It also urged the CEM to trace the financial irregularity.
