SHILLONG: The CSWO on Wednesday claimed that as many as 30 sex workers have frequented the Marvelene’s Inn in Rilbong where a sex racket involving a minor girl was being run.
The guest house is run by the family members of Home Minister HDR Lyngdoh. Speaking to reporters here on Wednesday, CSWO president Agnes Kharshiing alleged that the Home Minister was “running a trafficking unit which should be closed down”.
“According to information from sources, 30 sex workers have been to the guest house. The police should have given this report out. Such things cannot happen without the knowledge of the owner who should have been arrested by now,” Kharshiing said adding that the decision of the home minister not to step down shows his intention to influence the investigation.
Kharshiing added that it is an alarming revelation as “it took place in the guest house run by the home minister’s family”.
It may be recalled there were demands from various quarters for the home minister to step down to allow a free and fair investigation.
