AYC demands qualified teachers for govt schools

SHILLONG: The Achik Youth Council (AYC) has petitioned the School Education and Literacy Minister, Deborah Marak demanding that all non qualified teachers appointed against the implementation of National Council for Teachers Education (NCTE) act, should be replaced with fresh advertisements and appoints.
In a memorandum submitted to the Minister, the NGO said that there are many teachers in Government primary and upper primary schools who don’t have requisite qualifications as per the norms and guidelines of NCTE act.
