SHILLONG: The sudden power cuts and the inability of the people to watch TV during the counting of votes for the recently held polls in various states including UP has irked the BJP in Garo Hills.
BJP leader from Garo Hills, K.C. Boro informed on Tuesday that same thing happened during the counting of votes after the Assam Assembly polls and also for Tura Lok Sabha seat.
There was disruption to power supply on these occasions in Tikrikilla and many other parts of Garo Hills, Boro said.
“The public are saying Congress is doing the mischief.  I want to know whether it is the fault of  MeECL or handiwork of Congress Electric Corporation Limited”, Boro said.
According to Boro, MeECL should remember that after ten months, the Bharatiya Janata Party will form the Government in Meghalaya
