Low occupancy of Shillong-Rongjeng bus disappoints MTC

SHILLONG: The occupancy rate of buses from Shillong to Rongjeng and vice versa through Nongstoin is low.
The daily morning bus service from Shillong to Rongjeng via Nongstoin and from Rongjeng to Shillong via Nongstoin started on Monday but the number of passengers on the first two days was poor and the bus was almost empty. Altogether six passengers took the bus from Rongjeng to Shillong.
Sources in MTC said word about the resumption of the service needs to be spread further as many are still not aware of the services.
The MTC bus departs from MUDA Parking Lot, opposite Anjalee Cinema Hall, 6.30 am and another bus from Rongjeng Main Market Area to Shillong at the same time. The bus fare is Rs 205 per head.
