SHILLONG: Over one thousand crore rupees were collected in terms of royalty on coal in the State while the mineral cess on limestone was over Rs 84 crore from 2012 to 2016.
The total royalty on coal was Rs 1,491,64,03,132 while it was Rs 84,33,52,497 for limestone for the period 2012-13 to December 2016.
Chief Minister Mukul Sangma laid a statement in this regard in the House on Monday in reply to a question by Metbah Lyngdoh (UDP).
The year-wise figures for mineral cess on limestone are 2012-13 (Rs 9,34,98,286), 2013-14 (Rs 14,59,93,890), 2014-15 (Rs 15,86,84,057), 2015-16 (Rs 27,01,37,866) and from 2016 December (Rs 17,50,38,398).
The year-wise figures for collection of mineral cess on coal are Rs 328,64,58,766 in 2012-13, Rs 416,33,15,624 in 2013-2014, Rs 157,2159,050 in 2014-15, Rs 302,25,64,650 in 2015-16 and in 2016-up to December it was Rs 287,19,050,42.
