Govt to appoint school inspection officials

SHILLONG: School Education and Literacy Minister Deborah Marak said that the department will accelerate the appointment of inspection officials to improve the functioning of schools in the State.
In a written statement tabled in the House on Friday in response to a call attention notice moved by James Sangma (NPP), Marak said that the Government will appoint Sub Inspectors, Lady Social Education Organisers and School Education Organisers.
There are altogether 23 vacant posts (4 posts of Sub Inspectors, 12 vacant posts of Lady Social
Education Organisers and 8 posts of School Education Organisers).
Marak said that there is a need to effect appointment to these posts to strengthen the school inspections, supervision and implementation of various centrally sponsored schemes which are vital to ensuring progress of education in the State.
