City-born judge becomes J&K CJ

Jammu: Shillong-born Justice Badar Durrez Ahmed, Judge of Delhi High Court has been transferred to Jammu and Kashmir High Court and will take oath as Chief Justice of Jammu & Kashmir on April 1.
He will administer the oath as 33rd Chief Justice of Jammu and Kashmir High Court on April 1 at the Raj Bhawan, sources here said.
Justice Badar Durrez Ahmed, son of former President Dr Fakhruddin Ali Ahmed, was born on March 16, 1956 in Shillong.
He studied at St Edmund’s College, Shillong, (1962-1966) and St Columba’s High School, New Delhi (1966-1971) and passed the Indian School Certificate Examination in 1971-1972. (UNI)
