Kohima: The State Service Associations of Nagaland under the State Confederation of All Nagaland State Services Employees’ Association (CANSSEA) have commenced agitation against the Government since Saturday evening.
According to a statement, issued by the CANSSEA President and State Service Associations Convener S Takatuba Aier said this was resolved at an emergency meeting of state service associations held on March 25, 2017 at CANSSEA conference hall, Kohima (CANSSEA).
The organisation had announced a state-wide ‘pen down’ strike against the Nagaland Government with immediate effect since Saturday.  The agitation was announced following what the organisation said on Saturday was the state government failing to fulfill the employees’ demand.
The organisation is demanding implementation of the 7th Revision of Pay, or ‘ROP, scheme.
In the statement the CANSSEA stated that the decision was arrived at after thorough deliberation as the Government had failed to fulfill the genuine demand of the state employees for implementation of the 7th ROP.”
The press statement explained that the service associations had sought implementation of the 7th ROP with effect from January 15, 2016. “However, the associations agreed to accept the implementation of 7th ROP with effect from 1st March 2017 as published in the local dailies. Although the State Government constituted Cabinet Sub-Committee to resolve the issue the matter could not be settled.  (UNI)
