Man killed in road mishap

JOWAI: Goodbreading Pala of Tongseng Nongkhlieh village succumbed to his injuries hours after his vehicle capsized after hitting a guard wall on Sunday morning.
The driver, Pala was rushed to Jowai District Hospital, Ialong by locals and was shifted to Woodland Hospital Shillong later. However, he succumbed to his injuries at around 4 pm.

 

One assaulted

JOWAI: A woman from Barato village in Jaintia hills lodged a complaint that her son Riwanshias Dhar was assaulted by six persons–Por Talang, Promus Biam, Dahun Situng, Najir Mynso,  Hamrit  Timung and Binas Timung all of Barato  village, and  two other unidentified miscreants armed with weapons.
The victim was admitted to Dr. Norman Tunnel Hospital, Jowai for treatment.
