He urged all the VDPs to help Police in solving crimes and if they need any requirements or help they can approach the Officer in Charge of the concern Police Station.
“Inform the Police about the presence of all contraband and be careful of illegal activities of fraudulent persons promising jobs with the intention to cheat,” Marak said. He told the villagers that if anybody is interested in forming a VDP then they can approach the O/C for all details. Ian Swer, MPS, Deputy Superintendent informed the villagers on the functioning and role of VDP members in prevention and detection of crime. He also suggested to the VDPs to coordinate with the police in the detection of criminal and anti-social elements moving in and around the villages, adding “but do not take law in your own hands and inform the matter to the police for taking legal action.”
