SHILLONG: The State Level Public Grievances Committee in its second report has suggested setting up of complaint boxes at the block levels to address grievances.
The Chairman of the Committee, K C Momin, and members met Chief Minister Mukul Sangma and submitted the report for the period from October 2014 to September 2016 on Wednesday.
In the course of detailed deliberation between the chief minister and the committee members, the various recommendations made by the committee were dealt with. The meeting also recommended that public grievances need to be addressed right from the grassroots level and complaint boxes should be immediately initiated at the block levels.
While appreciating the efforts of the committee, the chief minister said that the committee can play a more active role on various issues through sensitization programmes at the district and block levels and also through the state government portal.
The committee resolved to take up issues of public grievances by holding meetings at various levels to ensure time bound delivery.
