Govt approaches retd HC judge to probe NGH firing

SHILLONG: The State government has written to retired Judge B.D Agarwal of Gauhati High Court to probe the firing incident at North Garo Hills that left three civilians injured.
An official source said on Thursday that the letter was sent by the Political department and the matter is being examined by the chief minister.
The government has already paid ex gratia of Rs 20,000 each to the injured besides the hospital expenses of the trio.
