NEC discusses regional plan

SHILLONG: The Draft Regional Plan for all round development of North Eastern Region prepared by the North Eastern Council (NEC) was discussed with regional heads of various government organizations in a meeting convened at the NEC Secretariat on Wednesday.
Representatives from various organizations like ICAR, Ministry of Health, Airport Authority of India, NESAC, UGC, Ministry of Power, MSME, Sports Authority of India etc. took part in the meeting.
Chairing the meeting C.K. Das, Member, NEC emphasised on a sustainable regional plan for NER with input and proactive participation of various central government organizations operating in the region as well as the respective state governments.
He also stressed on regular dialogue and interaction on developmental issues.
Earlier, NEC Secretary Ram Muivah welcomed the participants and briefed them on NEC’s activities.
