Syiem deserved to be suspended, says Rowell

SHILLONG: Senior Congress leader and former deputy chief minister Rowell Lyngdoh said on Monday that while due procedure was not followed before taking action against the KHADC chief executive member P.N Syiem, he deserved to be suspended.
Referring to media reports that he was raking up the suspension issue of the CEM, Lyngdoh said it was not his intention to do that and his comments were following a query made by media persons.
“I only said the party seems to have not followed the proper procedure otherwise, my stand is that he (Syiem) should be suspended as he was fighting against the government and against development, especially in my Mawkyrwat constituency and the constituency of Danggo (Ranikor) as KHADC had not given any NOC for the road projects,” Lyngdoh said.
