SHILLONG: The State BJP has claimed that as many as 20 sitting legislators are keen to join the party.
State BJP president Shibun Lyngdoh told The Shillong Times that 20 legislators were in touch with the BJP.
“There are feelers from 20 MLAs including those from Congress, UDP, HSPDP and independents that they are ready to join BJP”, Lyngdoh said.
However, the BJP leader said that the party is currently engaged in strengthening its own base in all the 60 constituencies.
“At present, we are working on our own to cultivate our own flowers in the field. Let the readymade ones first come to the market”, Lyngdoh said.
