Agartala, Apr 20 (UNI) Incessant rain accompanied by heavy wind and thunder storm has disrupted normal life in Tripura that evicted a few hundred people in North, East and South Tripura in last 24 hours.
Many areas of Agartala city is under water logging since last evening, as drainage and sewerage system of the city have been collapsed due to multiple blockade in between and unscientific management of storm water canals.
However, Indian Meteorological Department forecast moderate to heavy rain and thunder storm accompanied by high speed wind of about 50 km per hour would be passing through Tripura in next 24 hours due to Nor’easter.
The Vehicles on the street were seen less in number due to the rain while school and office goers are seen stranded in roads as the rains have disrupted the daily life in the state. With heavy rainfall lashing various parts of state since morning, water-levels in major rivers – Gomati, Manu and Howrah have continued to rise. UNI
