MULAYAM CULTIVATING AMIT SHAH FOR NOMINATION AS PRESIDENT
Ketan Desai, the tainted erstwhile president of Medical Council of India, is close to the Samajwadi Party leader Mulayam Singh Yadav. You just have to visit Mulayam’s residence to see Ketan Desai sitting at his residence most of the time. Desai is one of the most closest to the BJP president Amit Shah and MSY who too is under scrutiny over his assets case, is said to be dancing to the tunes of Desai. The buzz is that Mulayam has refused to enter into any kind of gathbandhan to defeat the BJP. He is supposed to have said this on the behest of Desai. Desai is said to be the man behind all those utterances that Mulayam has made of late. Mulayam has recently made the statement that the SP can defeat the BJP on its own. He opposed Akhilesh Yadav’s alliance with the Congress and prior to this, he even broke the maha gathbandhan of Bihar and for all this, and only two men are responsible one Amar Singh and the other Ketan Desai. Both of them were acting under the supervision of Amit Shah. bjut since Amar Singh is infamous, it is Desai who is the man who is keeping the tap on MSY. Mulayam is expecting President’s position with support from Amit Shah.
SHEIKH HASINA FACING BIG PROBLEM FOR NO ACCORD ON TEESTA
The Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina who is facing anti incumbency of ten years, has to win the general election next year. She has only two options. First to either get the Teesta river solution or the second option is to become a communal party and woo the mullahs. The Bangladesh Prime Minister who was in Delhi early this month to negotiate with the Indian establishment on the Teesta river water solution, is now forced to woo the fundamentalists in Dhaka. Hasina went back empty handed. Despite the fact that Modi too is keen to solve the issue. But the West Bengal chief minister Mamata Bannerjee wants to use the Teesta river solution as a tool to fix Modi and his CBI. Meanwhile Hasina who is desperate to get the Teesta and Teesta alone or she would be forced to woo the mullahs. The demand of the mullahs is to remove the statue of a Greek god from the Bangladesh Supreme Court campus and to endorse the degree of the qaumi madrasa. Hasina is sympathetic towards them but if she gets Teesta accord done, she will have the guts to fight the BNP and the mulla supporters of her rival.
MAYAWATI APPROACHES CONGRESS FOR A GRAND ALLIANCE
The dalit supremo and the Bahujan Samaj Party chief Mayawati has perhaps learnt quite a few lessons from her defeats in Uttar Pradesh. After her three consecutive defeats in 2012 assembly polls,, in 2014 when not a single MP was elected and now the 2017 assembly poll when only 18 BSP members have won, Mayawati is now ready to go for an alliance with the Congress. Before the assembly polls, the Congress had approached her for a pre poll alliance but she was still living in the world of her own, she had bluntly refused it but now first to save her rumbling domain , and second to reach Rajya Sabha she has shed off her arrogance and has again approached Ghulam Nabi Azad. To become a part of the mahagathbandhan. The thinking in her camp is that unless she reaches the Rajya Sabha again as her term expires next year, Modi will get her arrested in the disproportionate wealth case.
MAMATA TAKES LEAD ROLE IN FORMING ANTI-BJP ALLIANCE
Even before the opposition has shown some capacity of capturing power in 2019 Lok Sabha polls, the race for who would be the prime ministerial candidate of the opposition has begun. After the Bihar chief minister Nitish Kumar, the West Bengal chief minister Mamata Banerjee has also jumped in the fray. Mamata is now the new king maker of the anti BJP Mahagatbandhan. She has been involved in the multi scams like Sharada and Narada but she has been meeting the opposition leaders. To form an ant NDA grand alliance to take on the BJP and the prime minister Narendra Modi. Mamata has already met Ghulam Nabi Azad and Ahmed Patel of the Congress. Praful Patel of NCP. Naveen Patnaik the Chief minister of Orissa. Akhelish Yadav, the SP chief is also schedule to meet Mamata. She will also meet the Congress President Sonia Gandhi. These meetigs with the opposition leaders are also seen as a move to increase her bargaining power which she seems to have been losing after the massive Modi triumph in UP and Uttarakhand. Her stand on Teesta is also seen as a move in this direction. While Narendra Modi awanted to sign the Teesta water treaty, Mamata created the stumbling clock. She wanted to prove to the international world that she was powerful and unless she wants, nobody can sign the treaty or force her to sign it. It was to scare Modi that if he takes step to arrest her in the Sharada case, she can create havoc even at the international level.
TARUN VIJAY CAUGHT ON WRONG FOOT OVER RACIST REMARK
Tarun Vijay who considers himself the BJP ideologue, was caught on the wrong foot on reacting on the country facing racism after the attacks on the Nigerian people in India. While denying that India had become a racist country, he passed a very racist remark himself. He is believed to have told shell shocked journalists, how can we be called racist when we have the entire south. After all are’nt we are living with the black people of Tamil Nadu, Kerala, Karnataka or Andhra Pradesh.
CONGRESS FORGETS CHAMPARAN SATYAGRAH CENTENARY YEAR
The Congress leadership which claims to be the rightful descendent of Mahatma Gandhi is so shell shocked by its defeat that it does not even remember the hundredth anniversary of the Champaran Satyagrah of Bihar. It was the first clarion call against the British given by MK Gandhi a hundred years ago in 1917 when he returned from South Africa. Though the word satyagrah was first used during the anti – Rowlatt Act movement. The champaran movement was the beginning of the uprising of the peasants and farm labourers who were forced to grow Indigo poppy opium instead of the food crops that was necessary for their survival. This movement has striking similarities with today‘s problems being faced by the farmers.. For the Congress and Rahul Gandhi, the kisan issue has been of vital importance. He did the kisan yatra but despite this, the Congress forgot the champaran satyagrah. Congress may have forgotten champaran but for Nitish kumar who is trying to become the PM candidate in 2019, it is an important issue. He has announced programmes for the whole anniversary year of the champran movement of Gandhi. The whole year round there will be prabhat pheris and lectures on the Mahatma. He is projecting himelf at the real inheritor of the ideals of champaran movement. (IPA)
