6 held for illegal extraction of minerals

SHILLONG: Six people were detained in West Garo Hills for illegally extracting minor minerals.
Quartum Chongkim B Sangma, Range Forest Officer lodged a complaint that one Md. Noku Sheikh and ten others illegally extracted minor minerals along Garobadha-Singimari Road and dumped in Assam. During investigation, six persons– Abdul Kayom (45), Fofia Hussain (42), After Ali (35), Manjan Mandal (45), Mohubur Rahman (30) and (6) Insan Ali (44) were detained.
